Hello everyone. I bought some cichlids from my LFS and the tank they came from just had "mixed cichlids" written on it. I thought they might be some kind of peacock cichlid, what do you all think?

Thanks

Hey mx5apex, welcome to ACF!! wave.gif

Appears the flash washed out the pics, so what does the actual coloration look like? Did all the fish pictured come from the same "mixed cichlid" tank, and if so, do they all seem to be the same species?

Judging by the location of the color and shape of the fish I would say it's a maturing male C. borleyi of the redfin variety.

All three fish came from the same tank, two of them are the same in color but one of them has yellow on the anal fin. They all have the same deep purple coloration and in the light you can see metallic blue in the face. The body has some orange on sides which fades as is gets near the tail.

Thanks

Thanks DragonKeeper, that looks to be the best match.
