Hello, anyone and everyone into Tropheus on this forum. So far this is what I'm planning tell me if it's gonna work and where I need help. I am putting them into a 92 gallon corner tank, with a Eheim canister filter rated for 160 gallons. I'm going to get some egg crate for the bottom of the tank for rock work. Really not sure if I need two ends of the tank with rock work, I have 21 Tropheus moorii Kasanga Red Rainbow's coming in on Tuesday 2/9/10 the tank is already setup with temp. between 76 - 79 degrees. I'm going to put crushed coral in first on the egg crate then a layer of agranite on top of that. I've read about the agression in tropheus colonies and I'm worried about the area in a 92 gallon dimension wise. If you think this would work please advise me to something that will work better. I have a 120 but that's loaded with discus at the moment but if worse comes to worse I can change that out and redo my adventure to work for the tropheus. Well, thanks for all the help in advance I sure hope I get some feedback ...............Jim in Ohio

I don't know anything about tropheus, but I'd love to see pics of your Discus! I know a guy locally who has one and said it's pretty sensitive to temp and that he had to target feed it for awhile. Sounded fairly difficult.

My only comment on your tank would be to ask if the tank is cycled or was previously stocked and has established bio-filtration, because adding 21 fish at once is going to be quite the bioload.

Nice selection for the fish tho, I looked up some pics, and they're very beautiful fish.

92 Corner is not ideal for a tropheus tank in my opinion. They are territorial and would be better off with more of a traditional 4ft or 6ft tank. Especially with the number of fish you are getting I don't think that the corner tank is you best option.

I agree. Not that the 92 corner couldn't work, but chances of having a problem in a 4-6' tank would be far less.

Thanks for the input all, I'll have to move my discus out of my 120 gallon, it's always nice to have extra tanks for just this kind of dilema. As soon as I get my new fish settled in their new home I'll post some pic's of my discus if it's allowed that is. Thanks again for the input very helpful indeed, makes sense I just wanted to be sure. Well since I have everyones attention, I put my new colony of Troph's in the 120 gallon. So now I'm really thinking on using that 92 corner for another group of Troph's. What I'd like to find out though is if i can put a group of Tropheus in the tank, how many considering the bottom area of the tank. I don't want to create a truly climatic situation on the fishes part. Thanks in advance Jim

LOL, just got your first group & already considering another new group... that's the way the Troph addiction works laugh.gif
I know of plenty of folks who've had success with Trophs in 90g corner tanks.
Really the number of Trophs you can stock depends more on filtration than footprint.
